Hirta – Scotland
This impressive bit of land was once home to an entire village, back in the 1930s. However, due to political change in the region, the citizens chose to leave and live somewhere else.

In August 1930, the last remaining inhabitants left resulting in this wholly deserted village. These stone homes now stand tall, unchanged, after 80 years. Many of them appear to be repairable, so who knows what the future stores for Hirta.
