McDonald’s Asian McNoodles

Though McDonald’s capitalizes on classic menu items, the fast food company isn’t scared to hop on some food trends as well. It took inspiration from Asian cuisine and introduced an Asian noodle dish, McNoodles, to their customers in Austria. McNoodles is a stir-fry dish of noodles garnished with curry sauce and served with salad, vegetables, and chicken.

In 2012, the limited-time-only McNoodles was launched into the Austrian market as Asian stir-fried noodles became increasingly popular in Austria. McDonald’s capitalized on the opportunity, and at the same time created more food options for customers. When you stir-fry your vegetables and meat, it creates a tender-crispy vegetable. Some people say that cooking it this way retains more nutrients than when it is boiled. Also, the way the pan is made you don’t need to throw in as much oil as you normally would.
