Different Meals from McDonald’s Menus around the World

McDonald’s Taro Pie

This could possibly be the weirdest McDonald’s pie filling all over the world. This crispy, rectangular, fruit-filled tartlet is similar to McDonald’s Apple Pie, except that it’s stuffed with chunks of the bright purple taro roots.

Taro is a purple tuber that is grown only in the Pacific Islands. Taro pie is sold in McDonald’s Asian markets. Its crust is filled with a blend that’s quite similar to chunky mashed potatoes. It is tasty and definitely worth trying, if not for anything, then for its unusual color. Researchers say that while it’s similar to a potato, it has 30% less fat and a lot more Vitamin E in it. They also said that the Taro root is toxic and should be cooked before eating it.
