Apples are the richest fruit source of pectin, which is a soluble fiber that has been proven to lower blood pressure, decrease the risk of colon and breast cancer, reduce cholesterol, and lessen the severity of diabetes.
Try adding a few slices to a sandwich or add them to a salad. Leafy greens, pecans, and apples go amazingly well together. Add a light vinaigrette dressing, and you just found your new favorite salad.
