Serving His Country
Did you know that Selleck served in the army? Tom Selleck isn’t the kind of guy that just sits back and relaxes; he’s a “getter done” kind of guy. When he received a draft notice during the Vietnam War, he joined the California National Guard. He then served in the 160th Infantry Regiment of the California Army National Guard, between 1967 and 1973.
Selleck has spoken about his time in the military proudly: “I am a veteran, I’m proud of it. I was a sergeant in the U.S. Army infantry, National Guard, Vietnam era. We’re all brothers and sisters in that sense.” Due to his military background, he turned into a highly disciplined individual who’s not afraid to roll his sleeves up and get his hands dirty.
