Kate Mulgrew – Then

Kate Mulgrew portrayed the infamous Captain Kathryn Janeway. Janeway was very close to her father, and he taught her to connect with science. After he died, she graduated from the academy and became a science officer on the USS Al-Batani. She is famous for breaking records and being the first female to beat out all the men and become captain. Her character appeared throughout the series until 2001.

This role was given to Genevieve Bujold, but she dropped out on the second day of filming, and they brought in Mulgrew. Two other people auditioned, but you can guess who they went with.
