Manute Bol was already 6’10” when he was just 14 years old, which is taller than 99% of American adults and even most of the NBA. Once he reached his height of 7’7″, he was tied for being the tallest player to ever play in the NBA. But Bol didn’t like basketball. At least not at first. But his father and older brothers always wanted him to play.

The NBA was formerly known as the Basketball Association of America back in 1946. One of the groups were named ‘Providence Steamrollers’. This team remained for a total of only three seasons, accumulating a record of 46-122. I thought I’d add, I’m not that surprised. With a snappy name like the Steamrollers, it would be hard to attract talented players to their team.
