Serra Sabanci

The 46-year-old is worth $1.1 billion from her family’s business. She is one of the shareholders and board members of Sabanci Holdings, Turkey’s largest financial and industrial corporation. Her father, Ozdemir Sabanci, was gunned down in 1996 inside his office in Sabanci Towers in Istanbul. The armed group DHKP-C hired assassins to take him out. An heiress with a tragic family past, Serra became the 28th richest person in Turkey.

After their father’s death, Serra and her only sibling, Demir, took spots on the board at Sabanci Holding. Serra went on to study Economics at the University of Portsmouth. Her net worth has gone up and down over the years, but her family had recent success. Sabanci Holding now operates over 60 companies in its group, with over 60,000 employees across the world.
