There was a point when Frank got caught in some legal trouble over an old piece of farm equipment. Jerry Bruce of Greenville, South Carolina, saw a polarimeter during an episode.
He wanted to buy it, and he and Frank agreed on a price of $300. Bruce paid for the antique, but he never actually received it. It turns out that Frank never cashed his check, but it was enough for Bruce to take him to court and win, too.
